June 25, 2009, we lost a truly amazing person, Michael Joe Jackson.  Michael Jackson was only 2 months away from his 51st birthday when he passed away.  My prayers go out to his children and family.

We should all take a look not only at Michael's past, but ours too, as well as our future.  We are all special in our own way and we should all take a look in the mirror and ask a few questions:  Am I fat or skinny?  Happy or sad?  What can I do to change my life for the better?  Do I have a positive influence on others?  Remember, the reflection looking back at you also influences the lives of everyone around you.

I personally do not know the exact circumstances of Michael's death other than what I have heard or seen on tv with Larry King and from CNN reporters.  A number of the networks are stating cardiac arrest, some are saying possible abuse of prescription medication from being overworked, neglecting his body, or just feeling very empty and unhappy.  Any way you sum it up, we have lost another legend, a true American icon.

Amongst all of the turmoil in life, it's imperative that we make a conscious effort to take better care of ourselves.  Some of us have back or neck pain, or maybe an injured knee or shoulder.  We have choices:  sit back and wait for it to get worse, or be proactive and go out and try to make it better.  Often weight issues will affect some of these other aches and pains.  We often need to reevaluate, eat right, and focus on bringing back a big piece of what is currently missing in America--TRUE HAPPINESS AND FAMILY, for better or worse, family is family and the core of our society.

We should want to be there for each other and this can only come to fruition with good health and strong family values.  If you are feeling down or have a problem, don't shut yourself out from the world and crawl into a shell.  Get help, talk to someone.  Remember, family is not only bonded by blood, family is what you make it.  Even when you feel you are all alone, there is someone out there ready to listen and help you through.

If you look in the mirror now and are not pleased with what you see, CHANGE IT!!  If you have a problem with overeating, smoking or drinking, or whatever it may be, don't turn to painkillers or fall into depression, ask for help, reach out, even if it's from a stranger.

People call me a trainer or some of you know me as the crazy guy that runs around in camo gear calling myself The Solution.  The bottom line is that first and foremost I'm a dad, a son, and a husband.  My family is not without flaws, but with communication and guidance from my family and loved ones, I try everyday to be a better person and to help others do the same.  Because of this, people call me a trainer, a life coach, I just call myself Phillip.

If you have a problem, whether it's weight or fitness related or just plain old unhappiness, feel free to reach out to me.  If you feel no one is listening or nobody cares, or if you need time for you, perhaps I can help.
